Alex Jones No Longer Supports Trump for 2024, Makes New Endorsement ⋆ Given Jones’ own legal troubles, some within the MAGA Movement are likely thrilled to see him distance himself from the presumptive GOP nominee. ⋆ Flag And Cross

As Donald Trump faces an increasing amount of political and legal pressure, a vast majority of the Republican Party is galvanizing around him.

Trump’s vicarious primary victories continue to mount, with a statement defeat of Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney being the cherry on top of the sundae this week.

His base isn’t going anywhere, either, having rebranded themselves as “Nuclear MAGA”, according to Twitter’s trending topics on Thursday morning.

But there is at least one right wing figure who’s jumping off the Trump train:  Alex Jones of Infowars, who this week suggested that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was “way better” than Trump for the 2024 election.

Jones said he “pig-headedly supported [Trump] a few years ago, even though I disagreed with his Warp Speed.” The InfoWars host was referring to Trump’s efforts to develop a Covid-19 vaccine in 2020. Jones is strongly against the vaccine.

For his part, DeSantis appointed a surgeon general named Joseph Ladapo, who has made public statements calling into question the vaccine’s effectiveness.

“I thought that we had to keep him in office because of the nightmare scenario if Hillary or Biden got in,” Jones continued. “With that said, I am supporting DeSantis. DeSantis has just gone from being awesome to being unbelievably good. And I don’t just watch a man’s actions, as Christ said. Judge a tree by its fruits. I can also look in his eyes on HD video and I see the real sincerity.”

And then, shockingly:

Jones also stated, “This is what Trump should be like. And I’ve been hammering this point, and he’s doing it now. And we have someone that is better than Trump. Way better than Trump.”

Jones has long been a mercurial figure in the right wing media, and his own legal troubles may have some Trump supporters glad to see the conspiracy theorist distance himself from Trump.

Governor DeSantis has not yet announced any officials plans to challenge Trump in 2024, but has been making a number of posturing maneuvers over the course of the last several weeks.
