On Thursday, President Joe Biden delivered remarks on the one-year anniversary of the PACT Act in Salt Lake City, Utah. While his speech may have seemed admirable to some, it was full of lies and gaffes that cannot be overlooked.
The president opened with an egregious lie about his granddaughter Navy Joan Roberts. He falsely claimed all of his grandchildren have Secret Service protection when in fact only two do.
The truth is that Navy Joan Roberts does not receive Secret Service protection due to her age and lack of a familial role within the White House administration.
It’s outrageous that he would choose to lie about this subject considering how easily it can be debunked by even a quick Google search.
Biden then continued his string of lies to veterans at George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center by claiming “I have been in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan over 38 times…”
This is one of Biden’s favorite lies; he has told various versions such as “50 times, 48 times, 40 times” over the years when discussing foreign policy initiatives or military service members – but none are true.
The actual number is closer to 20 trips made since becoming Vice President under Barack Obama, which is far lower than what he claims each time he tells the story publicly.
It’s disheartening that a man who holds such high regard must rely on lies rather than facts to make himself look better before a crowd.
It should also come as no surprise though given Biden’s track record for telling falsehoods throughout both terms as Vice President and now during his first year as President, this is just another example among many others where Biden has been caught lying to the public eye yet again.
At a time when trust between citizens and their government is so fragile, we need leaders who will own up to their mistakes instead of attempting to cover them up with more fabrications – but unfortunately, Joe Biden was not that leader today in Salt Lake City, Utah.
