During Arizona Republican candidate Kari Lake’s election lawsuit trial against Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs on Wednesday, a review found that 42.5% of examined ballots cast during the gubernatorial race were revealed to have contained a one inch discrepancy — causing widespread mechanical failures on Election Day, Lake’s legal team argues.

According to Lake’s legal team following the ballot examination, 48 out of 113 ballots were found to be “19-inch ballots produced on 20-inch paper,” a one-inch discrepancy that Lake’s team argues caused “chaos on Election Day” by “causing the mass rejection” of votes by tabulation machines.

“That is 42.5% illegal ballots in their random samples. This election was completely illegitimate,” Kari Lake War Room added in a tweet.

“This Is how they disenfranchised Maricopa County voters on Election Day. The ballots were designed to be unable to be read through the machines. This wasn’t an error. It was malice. The process worked exactly as they intended it to,” they added.

Clay Parikh, an election expert tapped by Lake’s legal team to provide testimony of the examined ballots, said that 14 out of the 15 ballots he examined contained the one-inch discrepancy.

Parikh noted that the discrepancy could not have been done by accident and that it was his professional opinion that it was caused intentionally.
