Clay Travis Shreds ESPN, Calls Raising Trans Flag a ‘Direct Attack’ on Employees

ESPN raised an LGBT flag at its campus in Bristol, Connecticut, on Thursday to show solidarity with Pride Month. However, Clay Travis from OutKick suspects there may be an underlying motive behind this act.

In a tweet, Travis shared a photo of a computer screen displaying information about the planned flag-raising event. He criticized ESPN for its ongoing endorsement of transgender athletes participating in women’s sports and accused the company of neglecting support for anchor Sam Ponder.

Ponder has faced intense scrutiny in the past week due to her belief that biological women should not be forced to compete against biological men in sports.

“ESPN will host a trans pride flag raise on campus tomorrow as part of pride month,” Travis tweeted. “It comes as the company advocates for men to play in women’s sports and refuses to support @samponder, who was called a bigot for supporting women only in women’s sports.”

Travis then turned up the heat and pointed out that by using the trans flag instead of the traditional rainbow blag, it’s a direct attack on Ponder and other employees who share her view.

“This flag is not the usual gay pride flag,” he said, “it’s newly designed to incorporate trans rights and feels like a direct attack on any employee who doesn’t support men in women’s sports.”

Ponder refused to back down and doubled down on her very reasonable view.

“Biology is not bigotry,” she said in a Wednesday tweet. “Loving people does not require the absence of boundaries.”
