Comer Requests Records Of Pseudonyms Biden Used as Vice-President

On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer formally requested that the National Archives hand over any unredacted records in which President Biden used a pseudonym during his Vice Presidency.

This request comes as part of an ongoing effort to uncover further details of President Biden’s tenure as Vice President under former President Obama.

Chairman Comer released a statement saying, “Americans deserve transparency and accountability from their public officials. As such, I’m calling on the National Archives to fulfill its obligation and turn over all documents related to this matter as soon as possible.”

The committee has asked for any records held by the National Archives with respect to any pseudonyms used by then-Vice President Biden while he was serving in office from 2009 through 2017.

According to The New York Post, Robert L. Peters was the email address used by Joe Biden while he served as Barack Obama’s Vice President.

John Flynn, an aide of Biden, sent Hunter ten emails containing his daily schedule from May 18th to June 15th in 2016.

Comer’s request covers records that use other pseudonyms of Biden such as “Robin Ware and JRB Ware”, as well as documents like drafts of a speech delivered by Biden to Ukraine’s Parliament in December 2015.

The issue of presidential recordkeeping has been debated since former President Richard Nixon resigned in 1974 due to obstruction of justice charges stemming from his involvement in the Watergate scandal.

Since then, there have been several laws passed concerning how presidential records should be handled after leaving office including when they can be released or redacted prior to being made available for public review.

The request is just one step in an ongoing investigation into then-Vice President Biden’s time spent serving under former President Obama’s administration and could shed light on some previously unknown information about his tenure as Vice President.
