Fani Willis’ plans to take her investigation into the 2020 election challenge by former President Donald Trump to a grand jury next week is yet another example of partisan politics run amok.
The district attorney has been on a mission to criminalize Trump’s efforts to challenge the election since she was appointed in January, and it appears that her witch hunt will soon come to fruition.
The Atlanta courthouse was locked down Monday in anticipation of Fani Willis making a decision to charge Trump with various crimes, including racketeering and influencing witnesses.
The evidence presented is unclear at this point, but one thing is certain: this latest indictment attempt is nothing more than an attempt by Democrats to score political points against Trump.
Presumably, the ‘influencing witness’ charge relates to a phone call made by Trump with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger regarding claims related to voter fraud in the state.
However, any claims made during that conversation have already been thoroughly debunked – not only by This outlet but other media outlets as well.
What’s more concerning about Fani Willis’ actions are the incredibly broad definitions given for charges like ‘computer trespass’ and ‘racketeering’ which could be used as catch-all terms for anything related vaguely related with challenging the results of the 2020 election.
This is true, even if there isn’t any concrete evidence or proof that laws were broken or violated. This type of overreach should not be tolerated by prosecutors who are supposed to be impartial and unbiased when it comes to making decisions about cases like these.
Trump himself called out Willis’ shady behavior at a rally held earlier this week in New Hampshire where he went on record saying she had “a lot of problems” and insinuated that she was having an affair with someone involved in organized crime – something which has not been substantiated whatsoever.
“And this is a person who wants to indict me. She’s got a lot of problems but, she wants to indict me to try and run for some other office…by the way, she wants to indict me for a perfect phone call. This is even better than my perfect phone call with Ukraine!” Trump said.
President Trump on Fani Willis:
“They say she was after a certain gang and she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang…
