Megyn Kelly, host of SiriusXM’s radio show, recently called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a “chicken” for refusing to appear on her show.
During her statement, she expressed her opinion that the 2024 presidential race would be led by Donald Trump due to his charisma and suggested that DeSantis may be more suited for a later date.
Kelly also commented on DeSantis’ campaign announcement which was made on Twitter rather than a news platform.
She described it as an “embarrassing,” “awkward,” and “disaster unfolding before your very eyes.” Despite the millions of views and donations garnered from the tweet, Kelly was still critical of its delivery.
The former Fox News host then went on to criticize DeSantis for avoiding interviews with tough questions. She challenged him by telling him to “be a man” and “grow a pair” if he wished to appear on her show.
Kelly added: “He made the announcement on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk and our pal David Sacks. Kudos to all involved for choosing a different medium and bypassing the mainstream media, which hates DeSantis and which is *hated* by most Republican voters.”
Despite being in touch with his team, Kelly seemed surprised at not receiving any response from them.
After calling DeSantis a “chicken,” the former Fox News host said she had been in touch with the DeSantis team but seemed surprised she had not received a positive response to her request for an interview.
“Grow a pair. Like, come on for an adversarial interview with somebody who is going to ask you some tough questions. Be a man. I’m sick of the duck and cover drill that he’s doing only with friendly media,” Kelly said.
Megyn Kelly has publicly criticized Florida Governor Ron Desantis for his campaign announcement on Twitter and refusal to do an interview with her despite being in contact with his team.
Her statements have stirred up controversy amongst voters about Desantis’ suitability for the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump who remains favored due to his charisma according to Kelly’s comments.
