Rep. Plaskett Tells Jen Psaki That Democrats in Government Should Determine What is True

On Sunday, Rep. Stacy Plaskett, the ranking member of the House Weaponization of Government Subcommittee and a non-voting member of Congress, joined Jen Psaki on MSNBC to discuss an issue that has been making headlines recently.

Should Democrats be the ones to define truth in America? This topic is indicative of how drastically the Democratic Party has changed of late – a notion that many people are increasingly concerned about.

During her appearance, Plaskett argued that Democrats should have autonomy when it comes to determining what is true and false.

In response to this statement, conservatives immediately raised alarms about government censorship of conservative voices and pushed back against Plaskett’s argument.

They maintain that by allowing one political party to define “truth” it would effectively silence opposition voices in the country.

President Biden’s administration has already spent hundreds of millions of dollars on government censorship initiatives aimed at silencing conservative Americans.

This move was seen as a direct attack on free speech rights and could be used to further limit access to alternative viewpoints or stories from multiple sources – not just those approved by a particular political faction.

By giving one party sole discretion over what can be said in public forums or media outlets, freedom of expression would become severely restricted for citizens across the United States regardless of their political affiliations or opinions.

With an unchecked power to define “truth” there is always potential for abuse and manipulation which could lead to increased levels of distrust and polarization within society as a whole.

At this time it remains unclear exactly how much control Democrats will ultimately have over truth determination in America but given recent events it is clear that this debate will continue for some time into the future as more information becomes available about government censorship initiatives targeting conservative Americans specifically.

Rep. Stacey Plaskett: “Well, you know, first of all, they wanna talk about censorship. That anytime you point out untruths, you’re censoring, you’re stopping people from speaking. It’s not that we’re not stopping people from speaking [sic], people can speak, but we’re also going to give the American people the truth so that they can have science and facts and history against wild, outlandish claims that the Republicans are trying to get. That’s not only going to keep them from going to the polls or suppressing vote or…
