Alica Schmidt, the renowned German track and field sensation once hailed as the “world’s most attractive athlete” prior to the commencement of the Tokyo Games, seems fully prepared for the forthcoming season.
Schmidt recently shared a captivating snapshot of herself at a track in Spain, along with multiple engaging Instagram Stories, signifying her meticulous preparations for the upcoming late spring and summer track events.
“Season is about to start, let‘s have some fun,” she wrote as a caption to her photo.
Schmidt has established herself as a highly skilled track athlete, primarily competing on the European circuit. Notably, in 2017, she played a crucial role in securing a silver medal for the German team in the 4×400 relay during the European Athletics U20 Championships. Furthermore, at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships, Schmidt and her teammates clinched a commendable bronze medal.
However, the team’s performance took a downturn during the 2022 European Championships, where they finished in sixth place. Similarly, they faced disappointment when they failed to qualify at the World Athletics Championships held in Oregon.
“Not the result we wanted in yesterday‘s 4×4 mixed relay and we know that we are capable of a lot more,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“But heads up and on to the next one! 4x400m relay on Saturday next week … nevertheless I‘m thankful to be here on my first world championships and gain a lot of experience.”
