It is widely believed that Donald Trump will be announcing his candidacy for the 2024 presidential race in the coming weeks, after allowing the 2022 midterms to take their course and provide him with a story to tell in his own race, (as opposed to entering early and allowing the midterms to be about him).
Despite this near-certainty, however, there are still plenty of murmurs and rumors about those who my seek to challenge Trump for the GOP ticket, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Trump’s own former Vice President Mike Pence.
But this week, Trump made it clear that he expects these potential usurpers to stand down.
Former President Donald Trump joined “The Brian Kilmeade Show” Friday to address the possibility of a second presidential bid in the 2024 election.
Trump touted his polling showing that he is leading the 2024 prospective field among Republican voters.
Trending:
“The polls have me leading by 40, 50 points,” he said, expressing his doubts that many challengers would run against him if he chooses to run.
Then came the moment in which Trump laid down the proverbial law.
“Many of them have said they would never run if I run. So we’ll see whether or not that turns out to be true. I think it would be very disloyal if they did. But that’s okay, too,” he continued.
“I’ll probably decide in the not-too-distant future. We have to make this country great again.”
Trump would go on to suggest that his reelection would have prevented Vladimir Putin from invading Ukraine as well, stating the the two “didn’t play games” with one another diplomatically.
