President Biden’s smiling face during his meeting with President-elect Trump at the White House on Wednesday lit up social media. Many speculated that the Democratic president looked eager to hand over the reins to Trump after his party pressured him to withdraw from the presidential race in July.
In the Oval Office, Biden and Trump both promised a seamless transition following the 2020 election’s intense ending.
“I look forward… to having a smooth transition. We’ll do everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated, what you need,” President Biden said as cameras captured the brief interaction.

But Biden’s seemingly joyful expression caught the eye of conservative viewers, who noted that he appeared happier than ever.
“Biden’s never looked happier,” Link Lauren, a former senior adviser to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., commented on X.
“I’ve never seen Joe Biden this happy,” added Colin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, also on X.
“Who else thinks Biden voted for Trump??” Turning Point USA contributor Morgonn McMichael joked on X.
“Biden… all smiles… said ‘Welcome Back’ to Trump… You can’t convince me that Biden didn’t vote for Trump,” comedian Tim Young speculated on X.
“Joe Biden shares the same smile that most of America has right now. Everyone is psyched for Trump to be back in the White House. Including Biden,” tweeted Sean Parnell, former Pennsylvania Senate candidate.
“Spot the difference,” an account called “EndWokeness” posted, showing photos comparing a reserved Obama during his transition with Trump in 2016 to the smiling Biden meeting Trump on Wednesday.

This meeting followed another viral moment when First Lady Jill Biden appeared to give an icy reception to Vice President Kamala Harris at an Arlington Cemetery event on Tuesday.
“It’s safe to say that Jill Biden hates Kamala Harris’ guts,” conservative commentator Steve Cortes remarked on X alongside a video of the frosty interaction.
