Head of state Biden launched a statement condemning the actions of one of his predecessors, but individuals were quick to point out the one glaring issue with his condemnation.
On Sunday, Biden released a declaration for the Day of Remembrance of Japanese American Imprisonment, which works as a memorial for the Japanese-American guys, ladies and also youngsters who were incarcerated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s administration during The Second World War.
The declaration claimed that FDR’s Executive Order 9066 ordering the mass incarceration of Japanese-Americans “ushered in among the most scandalous durations in American history … And in an unfortunate miscarriage of justice, the High court promoted these immoral and unconstitutional policies.”
I do think we can all concur with the belief expressed in this declaration. The internment of hundreds of American residents based upon their origins was a despicable act by the government, particularly when we were asserting to combat for justice versus the murderous Nazi and Japanese regimens.
The declaration was then tweeted out by White Residence press assistant Karine Jean-Pierre.
Trending:
