Over the course of the last week, Americans have been inundated with the Biden administration’s latest marketing ploy, in which the normally demure and sleepy President has suddenly become an angry, antsy mess at the podium, shouting down attendees of his appearances and generally denigrating those who have a differing political ethos than himself.
On Twitter, the liberals are calling the schtick “Dark Brandon” – a play on the “Let’s Go Brandon” purposeful misnomer made popular by conservatives.
“Dark Brandon” first appeared during a speech on Thursday, September 1st, (a nice, easy date to remember to shift the marketing tactics), amid a Hellish backdrop of bright red lights and dress-blues Marines.
But, less than a week into the PR campaign, a new poll shows that Americans are just not into it.
Fifty-six percent of general election voters view President Joe Biden’s speech, where he cast Republicans as “threats to the foundations of our republic,” as unacceptable, a Tuesday Trafalgar Group poll found.

The poll asked respondents, “What is your opinion of President Biden’s recent primetime address to the nation in which he accused his political opponents of representing ‘an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic’?”
Fifty-six say the speech “represents a dangerous in rhetoric and is designed to incite conflict amounts Americans.” Only 35 percent say the speech was “acceptable campaign messaging that is to be expected in an election year.” Nearly 8 percent have no opinion.
And that wasn’t all…
Moreover, nearly 20 percent of Democrats viewed the speech negatively. Sixty-two percent of independents agreed that it represented “a dangerous in rhetoric and is designed to incite conflict amounts Americans.” Eighty-nine percent of Republicans oppose the speech.
While the President’s handlers certainly did spend a great deal of time preparing the otherwise reluctant Commander in Chief to participate in this egregious experiment, their “Dark Brandon” dream may be over before it really got started.
