This week, all of America is rooting for the Buffalo Bills.

Damar Hamlin, the defensive safety that collapsed on the field during Monday Night Football is making a remarkable recovery in a Cincinnati hospital this week, after being intubated and sedated for several days following the incident.

By Friday, Hamlin was awake and speaking, and demonstrating just how personally invested this Buffalo team is with one another.

The positive news regarding Damar Hamlin’s health condition continued on Friday with the Buffalo Bills announcing that his breathing tube was removed overnight, and he was finally able to speak with his team and the medical staff providing his care.

Per the physicians at UCMC, Damar’s breathing tube was removed overnight. He continues to progress remarkably in his recovery,” the statement posted to Twitter read.

“His neurologic function remains intact, and he has been able to talk to his family and care team.”

And then, in a moment that surely brought many a tear to several eyes…

The Bills also confirmed reports that Hamlin joined the team meeting on Friday morning via FaceTime and shared an important message.

“Love you boys.”

It was reported earlier that the first thing Hamlin communicated after coming out of sedation was a desire to know whether or not the Bills were victorious on Monday night.

The game was never completed on Monday, nor will it ever be, after an announcement by the NFL that they would work around the non-result in regard to the upcoming playoff picture.
