Secret Service Makes Decision on White House Cocaine Probe

On Thursday, the Secret Service declared the conclusion of their investigation into the cocaine discovered at the White House earlier this month. They cited an inability to “single out a person of interest” due to insufficient physical evidence.

After discussing the issue with congressional members, the Secret Service issued a statement on Thursday. They revealed that the cocaine was discovered on July 2, lodged within a container used for temporarily housing electronic and personal items before entering the West Wing.

The investigation, according to the Secret Service, revolved around determining “how this item entered the White House,” including a “methodical review of security systems and protocols.”

“This review included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the discovery of the substance and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found,” the Secret Service said, per Fox News. It said investigators developed “a pool of known persons for comparison of forensic evidence gleaned from the FBI’s analysis of the substance’s packaging.”

On Thursday morning, the Secret Service provided a briefing to Congress members regarding the investigation.

The White House disclosed that the incident transpired during the time when President Biden and his family were staying at Camp David.

Several Republican detractors of Biden have expressed their belief that the administration lacks genuine interest in unmasking the true identity of the person involved.
