With Donald Trump all but certain to dive back into the American political scene in the next few weeks, there are plenty of politicians who are watching their backs…including some of the most powerful members of the Republican Party.

We have to remember that Trump is a no B.S. kind of guy, and the team you root for is only a very small part of the equation with the former NYC business mogul.

That’s why it’s almost unsurprising to see Trump go after Mitch McConnell so ferociously.

Former President Trump said Thursday that the Senate should “impeach” Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and that he regrets endorsing the top Republican for re-election in 2020.

“I made a mistake, I endorsed him,” Trump said in an interview on the news and entertainment network Real America’s Voice. “He came to me — he was so nice to me and asked for my endorsement.”

And also:

“It’s crazy what’s happening with this debt ceiling. They ought to impeach Mitch McConnell,” Trump added later in the interview. “They must have something on him — how he approves this thing is incredible.”

Trump is widely expected to announce his 2024 presidential bid in the coming weeks, at which point the entire GOP will be effectively on notice…McConnell included.
