The larger a conspiracy becomes, the less believable it tends to be as well.

This is the sort of logic that the liberal left has used to downplay many of their own scandals, with Democrats often suggesting that the claims being made about Hunter Biden, for instance, simply can’t all be true.  Their suggestion is that the more massive the scope of the allegations, the more loony it sounds.

But now that we’re knee-deep in a number of January 6th trials, the left seems perfectly fine with wide-ranging conspiracies that touch on each and every part of the former administration.

For instance, their insinuations that the Secret Service was somehow involved…a claim that got some play in court this week.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes told a member of the extremist group before the 2020 election that he had a contact in the Secret Service, a witness testified Thursday in Rhodes’ Capitol riot trial.

John Zimmerman, who was part of the North Carolina chapter, told jurors that Rhodes claimed to have a Secret Service agent’s number and to have spoken with the agent about the logistics of a September 2020 rally that then-President Donald Trump held in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Democrats were already marking the Secret Service for suspicion after an equipment upgrade caused a vast number of text messages to disappear, including for the dates of January 5th and 6th, 2021.

Zimmerman never confirmed that Rhodes was indeed in contact with an agent – only that this was his impression.
